Carding School







    Designed to help customers increase their carding quality and production through a practical training program.

    Teaches principles of sliver and nonwovens carding through lecture and hands-on training.

    Offers classroom instruction that includes a comprehensive outline of maintenance procedures, illustrative presentations, and the practical application of recommended techniques to maintain and set a card.

    Features a fully equipped classroom, utilized exclusively for studying, tearing down, and setting up cards.

    Presents technical instruction to allow course graduates to understand basic fiber processing theory and prepares them to perform card settings, recognize inferior carding results, and troubleshoot carding problems.

    Includes written materials as permanent reference.

    Maintains limited class size to ensure personal attention and participation.

    Scheduled monthly for three and one-half days at the HOLLINGSWORTH Research & Development Center in Greenville, South Carolina.

    Offers special sessions at HOLLINGSWORTH or at customer’s site upon request.

Research & Development Services







    Ultra-modern Research & Development Center, located in Greenville, South Carolina, carries out tests and evaluations on a wide range of textile equipment and accessories and works with the industry to develop better products for the marketplace.

    Complete testing facility available to determine fiber length, trash and dust removal, nep count, and Classimat sampling.

    Testing laboratory for exotic, natural, man-made, ceramic, stainless steel, and fiberglass fibers as well as any other fibrous material.

    Experienced staff and spin tester equipment help fiber manufacturers test the performance of experimental fiber (used in carding through spinning as well as nonwovens applications) prior to marketing.

    Assistance offered to improve customers’ existing products.

    Ongoing, progressive research and development aimed toward making improvements in metallic wire for yarn spinning, nonwovens, and worsted applications, as well as in fiber reclamation.
